The University of Wyoming Extension hosts a soil moisture sensor mini field day in Powell on July 25 from 9-10:30am. The free event covers the various types of soil moisture sensors, including wireless sensors, and the benefits of soil moisture sensors for irrigation scheduling. There is a farmers market in Powell every Monday from 4:30-6:30pm on West Second Street just south of Washington Park.


The Big Horn Basin Farmers Market in Cody is every Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm at the Park County Complex on Sheridan Avenue.


West Park Hospital in Cody provides an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR class on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. The next class is August 9. The cost of the class is $40. The Lovell/Kane Area Museum is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. at its new location, 324 Oregon Ave. in Lovell, just a half block north of the old location.


A photo exhibit, “Incarceration In Focus: A Comparative Look at the Photographs of Ansel Adams and Yoshio Okumoto,” is on display through August at the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center located between Cody and Powell on U.S. 14A. The exhibit includes images taken by each artist at two Japanese internment camps during WW II. The dual perspective photographic exhibit is included with any museum admission.

The Powell Valley Recycling Center located at 946 Road 10 in Powell is open for assisted recycling drop off on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am to 5pm. They accept: cardboard, aluminum, newspaper, steel cans, office paper, plastic grocery bags, and numbers 1 and 2 plastics. The center does not accept glass. Self help drop off bins are available during non business hours and days.
